Will everyone who says Lā Ilāha illā Allāh enter Paradise?
Question:
“Will everyone who says Lā Ilāha illā Allāh enter Paradise? And how do we answer a person who holds that, and cites as proof the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever says Lā Ilāha illā Allāh will enter Paradise.” [Bukhaaree] and says that this is general?”
Answer:
“Yes; if he was incapable of performing actions, he was incapable of performing actions, or he uttered the testification at the end of his life, knowing what it entails, acting upon what it necessitates and being convinced of it... then he will enter Paradise.
However, if he leaves off the actions by his own choice, he leaves off the actions by his own choice; Lā Ilāha illā Allāh will not benefit him, because he did not act, he did not act upon it. Hence Lā Ilāha illā Allāh has rights, obligations, duties and recommendations. It is not just a statement which is said with the tongue. Yes.
However this is concerning the one who was not able to perform actions, after he said Lā Ilāha illā Allāh up until he died. Up until he died. He said it with conviction and while believing in it, then he died; for such a person Lā Ilāha illā Allāh is of benefit. Because he was not able to perform actions.
But with regards to the one who leaves off the actions and he is healthy and has left off the actions throughout all his life; then such a person is not a believer and Lā Ilāha illā Allāh will not benefit him. Yes.”
