When a Muslim falls into Shirk; do we say he encompasses both Tawheed and Shirk?
Question:
“A Muslim man says ‘La Ilaha illa Allah’, however he falls into Shirk; do we say that he encompasses (literally: balances between) both Tawheed and Shirk?”
Answer:
“When he falls into Shirk, then he nullifies the kalimah ‘La Ilaha illa Allah’. And we do not say that he is a Monotheist (Muwahhid), rather we say he is a Mushrik. Yes. But it could be he is ignorant, so it is to be explained to him, clarified to him. Yes.”
