What is the knowledge which benefits its companion in this life and in the hereafter?
Question:
“What is the knowledge which benefits its companion in this life and in the hereafter?”
Answer:
“It is the beneficial knowledge, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his followers. Allah, The Perfect and Most High, says in His noble Book:
{Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may get instructions in (Islamic) Religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware (of evil)} [Surah At-Taubah 9:122]
Our point from the verse is His saying, The Most High: {in (Islamic) Religion}
And Al-Bukharee and Muslim report in their Sahihs on the authority of Mu'awiyah, may Allah The Most High be pleased with him, from the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and his followers, that he said: "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion."
As for the worldly sciences which a Muslim is in need of, then there is no harm in that he learns them after he has acquired what he needs from the affairs of the creed and the Religion. However if he makes them the objective, then the Lord of Honour and Power says in His noble Book:
{Therefore withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who turns away from Our Reminder (this Qur'an) and desires nothing but the life of this world. That is what they could reach of knowledge} [Surah An-Najm 29-30]
And He, The Perfect and Most High says in His noble Book:
{They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world (i.e. the matters of their livelihood, like irrigating or sowing or reaping, etc.), and they are heedless of the Hereafter.} [Surah Ar-Rum 30:7]”

نص السؤال: ما العلم الذي ينفع صاحبه في الدنيا والآخرة ؟
نص الإجابة:
هو العلم النافع كتاب الله وسنة رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم - ؛ يقول الله سبحانه وتعالى في كتابه الكريم : " فَلَوْلا نَفَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِنْهُمْ طَائِفَةٌ لِيَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنْذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ " [ التوبة : 122 ] شاهدنا من الآية قوله تعالى : فِي الدِّينِ
وروى البخاري ومسلم في صحيحيهما عن معاوية رضي الله تعالى عنه عن النبي - صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم - أنه قال : " من يرد الله به خيراً يفقه في الدين " .أما العلوم الدنيوية التي يحتاج لها المسلم فلا بأس أن يتعلمها بعد أن يأخذ ما يحتاج إليه من أمور العقيدة والدين ، أما إذا جعلها هي الغاية فرب العزة يقول في كتابه الكريم : " فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْ مَنْ تَوَلَّى عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا * ذَلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ " النجم 29 - 30
ويقول سبحانه وتعالى في كتابه الكريم : " يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآَخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ " الروم : 7
