What I know about Shaykh Abdullah Ibn Jibreen
The eminent Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him, states:
"He is the brother, the shaykh, the scholar, the virtuous 'Abdullah Ibn Jibreen. I knew him from the time of 1378 hijri when I came to Riyadh for studies.
The Shaykh initially studied the various sciences from the scholars and then joined the academic studies at the Imamu-d-Dawah Institute, then at the Faculty of Sharia, then at the High Judicial Institute and achieved the Master's Degree and the PhD.
He worked as a teacher in the Faculty of Sharia and used to be my colleague. Then he moved on to become a member of the Iftaa (issuing Islamic verdicts) until he retired and would in addition to his work as a teacher and in the Iftaa teach the students in the mosques and be busy in calling to Allah; travelling to the different parts of the Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia ) to deliver lectures, hold knowledge based seminars and visit the schools in order to give instructions and advice.
Thus all of his time would consist of issuing Islamic verdicts, calling to Allah, teaching, examining Master's and PhD theses and supervise some of them, besides his own academic works in form of writings, treatises and Islamic verdicts which have been printed. He filled the recordings with talks, lectures, knowledge based meetings and continued his beneficial and charitable work out of which a large number of students of knowledge came forth.
He strictly adhered to the methodology of the pious predecessors (As-Salaf-us-Saalih) in knowledge, action and emulating until he passed away, the Muslims lost him and wept over his death. However his traces trough which he still receives reward, if Allah wills, continue to remain. The Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"When the human being dies all of his deeds come to an end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge which is benefited from or a righteous child who supplicates for him."[1]
We truly hope that he will be given all of these three together and that Allah rewards him on behalf of Islam and the Muslims with the best of rewards. May Allah send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions."
[1] Sahih Muslim, reported by Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him
