The rich and the poor on the Day of Judgement

The Messenger (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him) said:

"The poor from the Muhaajireen (migrants) will enter paradise five hundred years before their rich ones."[1]

Hence the poor will precede the rich in entering paradise by five hundred years, because the rich will be taken to account for their wealth. But as for the poor; then they are light, they don't have anything. This is an explanation of the reason why those with more wealth are the ones with the less good deeds on the Day of Judgement.

Hadeeth Hasan Ghareeb, reported by At-Tirmidhi from Abu Sa'eed, may Allah be pleased with him, Al-Albaanee, may Allah have mercy upon him, said in Sahih Sunan At-Tirmidhi: Sahih.
