The meaning of 'Whosoever leaves off three Jumu'ahs out of negligence'

Question:

"What is the meaning of the Hadeeth 'Whosoever leaves off three Jumu'ahs out of negligence'[1], to the rest of the Hadeeth?"

Answer:

"Whosoever leaves off three Jumu'ahs out of negligence, meaning out of laziness and disconcern, he doesn't go out to the Jumu'ah prayer and leaves it off, then that is a sign for the weakness of Iman (faith or belief) in his heart. If it was only one Jumu'ah we could say that he slipped up (i.e. made a mistake). But leaving off three Jumu'ahs in a row, indicates that he is not certain about them; that he does not believe in them and that he sees them as being insignificant. And thus this individual is punished by Allah putting a seal on his heart. And whomsoever Allah puts a seal on his heart is indeed from the losers. Allah says:

{Thus does Allah seal up the hearts of those who know not.} [Surah Ar-Room 30:59]
