Inquiring about slaughtered meat in countries in which the graveworshipers are rampant
Question:
"Our Shaykh, with regards to the countries in which the people of graveworship are rampant, is the meat slaughtered by them eaten on the basis of integrity, or may one inquire? Like if he visits and resides for example in some of the countries of the people graveworship such as Egypt, Pakistan or the like, is it permissible for him to inquire or does he operate on the basis (of integrity) and eat?"
Answer:
"If his friend is a Muslim and no Shirk appears from him, there is no need (for him to inquire). However if he accuses him, he inquires and is suspicious because graveworship has become apparent in these countries. But if he knows his friend, there is no need to inquire, and if he doesn't know him then there is no harm in that he inquires."
Shaykh 'Abdul-'Azeez bin 'Abdullah bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him.
