Fasting the six days of Shawwal while still having to make up fasts
Question:
"The questioner Abu Khalid is asking about your view with regards to fasting the six days of Shawwal for the one who still has to make up fasts?"
Answer:
"What is better, is that he starts with making up for the missed days (of Ramadan), and if thereafter it is possible for him to fast the six days of Shawwal, he fasts them. Because fasting the six days is permissible as long as the month is still ongoing regardless of being at the beginning, middle or at the end of the month. Hence he first makes up for the missed days and then he fasts the six days, even if it is at the end of the month."

السؤال: ما رأيكم يقول السائل أبو خالد في صيام الست من شوال لمن عليه قضاء؟
الجواب: الأحسن إنه يبادر بالقضاء إذا تمكن من صيام الست يصومها من شوال يعني مدام شوال موجود فالست مشروعة فيه سواء في أوله أو في وسطه أو في آخره, فيبادر بالقضاء ثم يصوم الست ولو في آخر الشهر
