​Daesh are the inheritors of the Khawārij

The Salaf are the Sahābah (the companions of the Prophet ﷺ) and who followed them exactly, and their inheritors are those who follow their path. And as for the Da'ishiyyūn (the people of DAESH/ISIS/ISIL/IS), then they are the inheritors of the Khawārij who declared the Sahābah to be Kuffār (unbelievers); they are the inheritors of the Khawārij who declared the Sahābah to be Kuffār.
