And say My Lord increase me in knowledge
The noble Shaykh Zayd Al-Madkhalee, may Allah have mercy on him, mentions in his explanation of The Book of Knowledge from Sahih Al-Bukharee:
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
{And say (O Muhammad ﷺ): "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."} [Surah Ta-Ha 20:114]
It is an address to the Prophet ﷺ. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, orders him ﷺ to ask Him (Allah) for an increase in beneficial knowledge and righteous actions. And it (beneficial knowledge) is knowledge about the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ.
