Do we consider a person who professes Islām but falls into major Shirk while he is ignorant a Mushrik?

Question: "The questioner says: May Allāh bless you. What is the ruling of a person who professes Islām but falls into major Shirk while he is ignorant, do we consider him a Mushrik (polytheist)?"

The Shaykh, may Allāh preserve him: "Such as? Let him give me an example of major Shirk."

The presenter: "No, unfortunately he does not give any example. And does he have an excuse for his ignorance? May Allāh reward you with good and grant you success."

Answer: "He who falls into Shirk from those who testify that there is no deity worthy of worship truly except Allāh and that Muhammad, may Allāh send peace and blessings upon him, is the Messenger of Allāh, and then nullifies that by slaughtering for other than Allāh, making vows for other than Allāh or seeking deliverance from other than Allāh, such as those who attach themselves to the inhabitants of the graves (the dead) and seek deliverance from them, slaughter for them, make vows for them, offer them sacrifices and call upon (make du'ā' to) them besides Allāh; then there's no doubt that they are Mushrikūn (polytheists).

Allāh, Exalted is He, says:

{And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allāh, any other ilāh (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kāfirūn (the disbelievers in Allāh and in the Oneness of Allāh, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful.} [Sūrah Al-Mu'minūn 23:117]

And He, the Mighty and Majestic, says:

{Say (O Muhammad , may Allāh send peace and blessings upon him): "Verily, my Salāt (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allāh, the Lord of the 'Ālamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims."} [Sūrah Al-An'ām 6:162-163]

If he dies upon this, he dies as a Mushrik (polytheist). He is not considered a Muslim and he is not to be buried in the graveyards of the Muslims. And his affair and excuse is left with his Lord. But as for him, we judge him with Shirk if he dies in this state. Yes."
