The ruling on speaking after the Iqamah has been said
Question:
"The reader (with the initials) ع ع from Riyadh asks and says: "What is the ruling on speaking after the Iqamah[1] and before the Takbirat-ul-Ihram[2] about issues outside the Salah itself; like straightening the rows and other than it, or that the speech is talking about the worldly life?
Answer:
"If the speech after the Iqamah and before the Takbirat-ul-Ihram has to do with the Salah itself, such as straightening the rows and the like of that, then this is legislated. And if it has nothing to do with the Salah then it is better to leave it, in order to prepare for entering into the Salah, and out of holding it in high esteem."
Footnotes by translator:
[1] Call to start the prayer.
[2] Saying: ''Allahu Akbar [Allah is the Greatest]'' upon starting Prayer.
Shaykh 'Abdul-'Azeez bin 'Abdullah bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him.
Translated by 'Abdurrahīm Ibn Muhammad Al-Hadhramī.
