An Advice to some who keep themselves busy with Classifying the People into Groups instead of preferring Da’wah and Unity.
Question:
"Your honorable, could you give an advice to some who keep themselves busy with classifying the people into groups like Ikhwani, Qutbi, Jaami, instead of preferring Da’wah and unity?"
Answer:
“We only clarify the mistakes. But to classify people, then this is not allowed, for it causes evil and Fitnah. It also causes that evil increases and discord builds up. We, however, clarify the mistakes and explain what is correct. And we all should turn to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, sallAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and be one community, instead of different factions. This is the result of Tahazzubaat (i.e. becoming fanatical parties).
If we now leave behind us these Tahazzubaat as it was before in this country (i.e. Saudi-Arabia) since the time of the Da’wah of Shaykh Muhammad bin 'Abdal-Wahhaab until the current time, when they were one community and one way of cooperation. With their leader, as well as their scholars and their people. They were all one community. We did not know these divisions and ideologies until some recent years ago. We should leave that behind us and return to the state we were before, on the truth and guidance, and leave these divisions behind.
However, we should abandon the disputes with name-calling. We must abandon the disputes with name-calling! It being said: He is an Ikhwaani and He is a Jaami and He is this and He is that; this will only increase the evil. It doesn’t hinder us to make clear the mistakes without naming 'the world and his wife' (fulan wa 'allan). We say; this is wrong and this is right, nothing more. Yes.”
